A question to consider

“What does insurance mean?”
That’s a question that I bet crosses some folks’ minds from time to time. And why wouldn’t it? You are paying a premium for something that’s seemingly invisible and only comes into play if something unfortunate happens to you.
So what DOES insurance mean?
Here’s what it means:
1) It’s taking care of a $1,900 repair to another vehicle that you accidentally hit in a parking lot.
2) It’s replacing a family heirloom ring that had been scheduled on a homeowners policy, after the ring was lost.
3) It’s carrying collision coverage on your vehicle, and then using that coverage to repair your vehicle after a hit-and-run accident where the at-fault party is unknown.
4) It’s having homeowners coverage to help restore your house after a tree falls on it in a storm.
5) It’s loving your family and carrying term life insurance for peace of mind and financial support for lost income in the event of a sudden life change.
These are just a few examples of what insurance means. If it’s never needed, consider yourself fortunate. If a situation arises, though, such as a tornado or fire to your home or a severe auto accident, there is a level of comfort that comes with knowing you have an insurance carrier, adjuster and/or agent there to help you through a difficult time.
